I work with a lady who only eats one thing—boiled sweet potatoes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She has been on this special diet for several months and she says it is healing her body. To not get sick of eating the same thing, she approaches each meal like it is her first time eating a sweet potato.
Her desire for digestive purity has made me ponder my desire for spiritual purity. How much do I care about having a pure heart? The path to purity is hard, but the reward is great.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.” (Matthew 5:8)
After graduating from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, I served as a high school Bible teacher in Asia. I enjoy traveling, writing, and playing the drums. My latest book focuses on Paul’s work as a tentmaker and what it means for today.
